Lightbringer
Made for Pirate Software Game Jam 16.
Details:
You are the last Lightbringer (Wick) left to restore the world back to light. You hold within you the light to defeat the darkness. Your mission, to illuminate/revive the now dashed holders of light. Avoid/eliminate the darkness while keeping your light aflame and defeat the darkness harvester. The catch is, you only have so much light, and limited replenishment resources, so you must think strategically on when to use your light to defeat enemies.
Controls:
WASD - Move
Shift - Sprint
Space - Jump
LMB - Attack (Hold W to do an upward attack, or hold S while falling to do a downward "bouncing" attack)
RMB - Produce Light (Use this to light Lanterns, Beacons, and to stun Lightbugs so you can collect them!)
Alternatively, if you prefer you can use the Arrow Keys for movements, and E for Attack and Q for Produce Light.
Gameplay notes:
You consume light whenever you perform an action with LMB or RMB. For every 5 light you consume, you take 1 damage. You have 5 health. When you are at 1 HP you cannot consume your last mote of light, so use your light wisely! While standing in a light source, such as a lit lantern or beacon, you do not consume any light whenever you perform an action with LMB or RMB.
Be careful, it is very easy to get lost in the combat and suddenly run out of light! If you die, you will be sent back to the beginning of the cathedral, and all enemies will respawn unless you managed to the light the beacon in the room (if it had one). Make sure to grab the motes of light dropped by enemies and to make use of the lanterns scattered about the dark cathedral. If you find a beacon, you can light it once all the enemies in the room are dead. Standing near it will restore your light!

I would love to see this with more developed audio. I enjoyed the artwork and gameplay very much.
Thank you for the kind words! Unfortunately sound was something that took a backseat for too long in our development and we didn't get a chance to get it in before the end of the game jam. Definitely a lesson learned for the future. We plan to add it in later once the jam window is over!
Thanks so much! I did all of the art for the game, it was certainly a labor of love haha. I think we may continue to develop it since we had so much fun getting to this point!
